"Words are our most inexhaustible source of magic, capable of both inflicting injury and remedying it. --Albus Dumbledore
My strongest desire is that students will feel comfortable in my classroom and understand that they are safe to develop and share their opinions. I believe that the importance of great literature is to better help us understand ourselves and others around us and to help us acquire the empathy required to treat all others with respect and compassion. Writing skills are necessary in order to help us to effectively communicate our ideas with the world around us. The overall goal of my curriculum is to guide students towards those aims.
